This delegation will focus on how
Cuba engages its citizens into civic participation. Cubans are very active in
local community activities as well as national level organizations. If you are
an organizer that works to get people involved in your group or issue, then
travel with us to Cuba to learn how Cuban citizens are engaged in forming
community and social organizations to better their society.
Participants in this delegation will:
- Learn about women’s groups, faith
communities, agricultural cooperatives, youth organizations, political
participation, community health care, and labor unions in Cuba.
- Research Cuban national priorities, such as
universal education.
- Investigate the effects of US policies on the
Cuban social service system
- Collaborate with organizers and social
service providers in rural and urban areas of Cuba.
