We are prioritizing participation for Indigenous people, People of Color, queer and trans people.

This delegation to Honduras will connect participants with Honduran organizations and activists working to elevate truths and narratives that are marginalized by the dominant forces in society. Delegates will explore the traditional and non-traditional media methods that Honduran activist organizations use, and see the effectiveness of this type of organization and politics will also be explored, including the impact that U.S. foreign aid and foreign policy have on Honduras.

Participants on this delegation will:

  • connect with professional journalists facing threats and smear campaigns
  • meet with indigenous community radio stations
  • explore the dynamics of self-censorship in a country engulfed in state violence and repression
  • learn about the U.S. influences on and portrayal in the Honduran corporate media
