Increased military funding for the Drug War has fueled corruption and violence in Mexico, while forced disappearances, torture, arbitrary detentions, and kidnappings have continued to increase.This delegation will explore how state repression relates to the implementation of a neoliberal agenda and how U.S. Drug War policy has encouraged militarization and fueled migration north.
Participants on this delegation will:
- Meet with organizations advocating for those affected by forced disappearances, human rights abuses, and border militarization
- Examine the impact of U.S. policy and U.S. aid to Mexico on a diverse range of communities
- Hear directly from those impacted by militarization and the drug war
