Cuba: Faith and Struggle

The US Blockade against Cuba violates UN Protocol agreements, recent UN votes to end it, and is one of the cruelest blockades in Western history. We’ll explore how faith is sustained in the midst of extreme injustice and the Cuban people’s vision for a new social order rooted in a gospel of peace, justice and revolutionary love.

Join us in Cuba on a delegation led by an experienced Christian and grassroots leader to examine the religious, cultural, historical and geographical life of a nation who is impacted daily by injustice at US hands.

Participants on this delegation will:

-Meet with local Cuban grassroots leaders from Cuban indigenous Pentecostal and other evangelical traditions.

-Share and dialogue with the Quaker church, a Jewish Synagogue, and the Cuban Ecumenical Network (Red Ecumenica de Cuba).

-Visit the Office with Attention to Religious Affairs of the Cuban Government (OAAR).

-Visit the Puerto Rican Mission and the Cultural Embassy of Puerto Rico.

-Experience cultural sites, such as the Revolution Museum in Havana and the home of famed author Ernest Hemingway.

-Explore new grassroots ministries, churches, and projects in Cuba, and review the history, development, and future of diverse Christian spiritual practices and communities on the island.
