WFP Mid-Atlantic Steering Committee
The WFPMA Steering Committee is seeking new members of our team! We operate by consensus to determine and administer the policies, organizational structure and resources of the WFPMA region.
This is your opportunity to deepen your commitment to working for peace, justice and sustainable economies in the Americas. We are committed to creating diverse organizational spaces that are welcoming to people of all racial, gender, class and ability and age identities. People of color, genderqueer, queer & trans people, working class people and people with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
Members serve for three-year terms. Some of the Steering Committee member duties include:
- Attend at least 3 out of the 4 meetings per calendar year (preferably in person)
- Supervise the Regional Organizer
- Approve annual budgets and regular spending reports
- Commit to fundraising a specific amount each year
- Approve and support regional fundraising program
- Help determine allocation of resources, short- and long-range plans, and monitor the effectiveness of staff in achieving them
- Recruit new committee members and develop new leaders
- Occasionally represent WFPMA in the media
- Assist staff in program implementation
- Adhere to WFP Covenant
