Witness for Peace Expands Cuba Delegation Program
Witness for Peace is happy to announce that we have been granted a license for an expanded delegations program to Cuba. WFP is now able to organize delegations with a full schedule of educational exchange activities to allow for meaningful interaction between delegates and Cubans. Delegation themes can be specific or general.
For 3 years, Witness for Peace has organized research-based delegations to Cuba. Educators, lawyers, health care professionals, and other key groups have all traveled to Cuba with Witness for Peace. Now, even more people will be able to benefit from the unique opportunity to visit our island neighbor and learn more about changing U.S./Cuban relations.
Our license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) allows Witness for Peace to take delegations to Cuba under the "People to People" category. This travel category provides for educational exchanges not necessarily involving academic study pursuant to a degree program when those exchanges promote people-to-people contact. Our year-long license authorizes as many delegations as we wish during the validity period of the license.
Witness for Peace is expanding our list of upcoming delegations to include additional themes as well as delegations that will provide a general overview of how U.S. policy impacts people in Cuba. For a partial list of upcoming delegations to Cuba, click here.
