New England

Witness for Peace, New England is a regional association whose mission is to support and carry out the work of national Witness for Peace, a politically independent, grass-roots organization committed to non-violence and led by faith and conscience. As a grass-roots movement Witness for Peace, New England seeks to raise awareness of and give testimony to violations of human rights in Latin America and the Caribbean and to advocate for U.S. economic and social policies that support these basic rights.

Witness for Peace, New England works with people of faith and conscience to develop skills and strategies that will transform destructive U.S. policies to ones of life, opportunity and hope.

The Mystery of Cuba, Our Island Neighbor

For most Americans, Cuba is a curiosity. Outside of Miami and other Cuban-American strongholds, people are intrigued by the only nation in the world prohibited to Americans. For over 48 years various administrations and a cold war, US policy has limited contact between Cubans and Americans. We are hopeful that these repressive policies are about to change. We are putting time and energy into fostering that change and creating an open exchange between neighbors

As we enter 2009 we usher in a new administration and new opportunities to change US policy and end extreme global poverty and oppression in Latin America. For 25 years, Witness For Peace has provided a strong and well respected voice for this change. For the past quarter of a century, WFP has worked tirelessly to change our foreign policy and to bring the reality of those misguided policies to the attention of the US people. Witness for Peace, New England, as an autonomous organization relies on your donations to keep its education programs strong. Your donations make it possible for us to continue to offer unique delegations, sponsor speaker's tours and continue our critical educational outreach. We hope that your holiday season continues to be celebrated in the spirit of resistance and that your are preparing to join us in action-packed 2009!
