This delegation is designed for those who are interested in participating in an interactive exchange with Cuban citizens in examination of the arts and culture that make up Cuba. After providing the historical context, discussions and excursions will focus on the topics of art, religion, education, agriculture & permaculture, economics, equity, and diversity & culture. The mission of Witness for Peace in Cuba is to end the U.S. embargo towards the island.

Participants on this delegation can expect to:

  • Learn the importance of arts and culture in Cuban identity and character
  • Participate in a guided walking tour of Old Havana
  • Visit museums, galleries, and studios
  • Experience Cuban performing arts shows
  • Find out about the importance of Santer√≠a and Afro-Cuban heritage
  • Experience a day in the life of a Cuban citizen
  • Meet with performing arts students and professional artists
  • Take part in a dance lesson
